My website has been hacked again. I'm not exactly positive how they got in, although I must admit I have been lax in updating phpBB to the latest versions and that is one potential security risk. They did not delete all the files, although they did overwrite my index.php in my earth2willi website as well as my index.html in the sejus website (the front pages, essentially). It's pretty frustrating, and sort of just another thing to put on the list of computer problems I have at the moment, including a hacked website and potential identity theft issues, a couple dying harddrives with important files on them, and a DVD project which for some reason refuses to duplicate. Not to mention the spam in my email, and the spammer bots coming onto this website. Arrrrrgh.

They left a message in misspelled Portuguese... It roughly translates as "Simiens Crew, while it will have hunger and war simiens exists". Rather frustrating since I consider the overriding message of this website to be one of peace...

Due to some unfortunate technical glitches in the DynDNS system, my registered domains expired and one of my aliased domains was taken by another user. This has caused some links on the website to be broken, for downloads and images mostly. Unfortunately I think it is unlikely I will be able to reclaim the domain, and to make matters worse it was taken for a porn website. It's pretty frustrating, and a bit odd since 'particlestorm' isn't really a sexual or pornographic term... About all I can figure is a bot came through and noted the domains being registered and added them to a list to continually try to automatically register. I put through a registration renewel before the exipry but because of some sort of glitch they evidentially got lucky... :(

Coming into 2004 we have had a lot of really stormy weather here in Hawaii. We had waterfalls behind our house, 100mph 'hurricane' winds, and even some tornados and water spouts which are fairly rare. A lot of the power lines here are up in the air on utility poles and so we repeatedly lost power as the lines were knocked out, meaning some music downloads and other parts of the website were temporarily offline. Everything is back online now and it seems as if the worst of the weather has past now; I'm sure we will get some more big storms but it is also already starting to warm up and feel like spring. Hopefully I will be able to do some gardening before summer is here!

In the rest of 2004 I'm going to be working on a few albums with friends; probably some rock and reggae, as well as some new jazz and electronica projects of my own. I've had a few delays with my projects and overall I'm not terribly happy with last years progress (or lack thereof), but I am looking at buying some new music gear and making some other changes and overall am very excited about the current outlook for the future!
